AuthenticationadminTokenTrust classadministrativePermissionsrealm.configuration.export

Parameters

NameLocationRequiredDetails
realmpathYesRealm name (path-based issuer). Unknown realms return 404.
{"type":"string"}
X-Request-Idheader—Optional caller-supplied correlation ID (printable ASCII, at most 64 characters); otherwise generated. Echoed in X-Request-Id and problem request_id.
{"type":"string","maxLength":64,"pattern":"^[\\x21-\\x7e]+$"}
Idempotency-Keyheader—Actor/realm/route-bound idempotency key (API-005) for POST requests, at most 255 characters (422 otherwise), kept for 24 hours; only a digest of the key is stored. The request is identified by its method, exact path and body: a replay with the same path and body returns the stored status and response with Idempotent-Replayed: true; the same key with a different body or another path on the same route (another resource) returns 422 idempotency_key_reused; a request still in progress returns 409. Only successful responses are recorded: when the original request failed (an error or a status of 400 or above) the key is released and a retry runs again. Responses containing one-time secrets (members such as client_secret, token, api_key, access_token, refresh_token, id_token, recovery_codes, secret or webhook_secrets) are never stored or replayed (409 with original_status).

POST/api/v1/realms/{realm}/configuration/validate+

Validate a configuration document

No mutation. Requires realm.configuration.import. Returns the plan the import would act on, with status 200 even when it lists errors: besides validation errors it reports a policy change without expected_policy_revision and every change the caller lacks the authority for through the API (realm.settings.write, realm.clients.write, realm.resources.write, realm.roles.write), so a plan never shows as valid what the import would refuse.

Parameters

NameLocationRequiredDetails
realmpathYesRealm name (path-based issuer). Unknown realms return 404.
{"type":"string"}
modequery—reconcile (SDK-012): existing clients, resources and role permissions that differ from the document are planned as updates and applied (never deleted); without it they are reported as drift only.
{"type":"string","enum":["reconcile"]}
X-Request-Idheader—Optional caller-supplied correlation ID (printable ASCII, at most 64 characters); otherwise generated. Echoed in X-Request-Id and problem request_id.
{"type":"string","maxLength":64,"pattern":"^[\\x21-\\x7e]+$"}

POST/api/v1/realms/{realm}/configuration/imports+

Reconcile a configuration document

Creates missing objects; existing objects are reported unchanged, or with ?mode=reconcile existing clients, resources and role permissions that differ are updated (never deleted; resource members the document omits keep their values); a client whose client_type differs and that would be updated is a plan error (a type never changes). Every change needs the authority it needs through the API (realm.settings.write, realm.clients.write, realm.resources.write, realm.roles.write): an import without it is refused with 403, and ?dry_run=true reports it in the plan (422). A policy change needs expected_policy_revision. Users need recent authentication. The import is atomic: every change commits or none does.

Parameters

NameLocationRequiredDetails
realmpathYesRealm name (path-based issuer). Unknown realms return 404.
{"type":"string"}
modequery—reconcile (SDK-012): existing clients, resources and role permissions that differ from the document are planned as updates and applied (never deleted); without it they are reported as drift only.
{"type":"string","enum":["reconcile"]}
X-Request-Idheader—Optional caller-supplied correlation ID (printable ASCII, at most 64 characters); otherwise generated. Echoed in X-Request-Id and problem request_id.
{"type":"string","maxLength":64,"pattern":"^[\\x21-\\x7e]+$"}
{"type":"string","maxLength":255}
dry_runquery—With true, only the plan is returned.
{"type":"string","enum":["true","false"]}
